Flying Bison Rusty Chain Vienna Style Lager

DISB Rating– 80 Kind of blah
TMTB rating – 82 If you are in the Buffalo area, give it a try.
Style Rating – 83 – Not bad, just not really exciting. Fairly comparable to Dos Equis or Negro Modelo, not on the Brooklyn or even Sam adams level.

Flying Bison Rusty Chain Vienna Style Lager – aroma dry caramel with maybe a nint of allspice and cardomon; Head – weak with fairly rapid retreat, almost no lacing; Color deep amber with strong garnet highlights; Flavor – dry caramel with a mild bitter back end somewhat cleansing but not terribly dynamic; Body medium; Carbonation – light medium.

These guys are kind of the Buffalo Bills of brewing right now. They put out a number of interesting and promising products, but they
always seem to disappoint a bit. Certainly better than no beer or team at all for the area, but you would love to see them come up with a serious playoiff run or in this case an award winning brew.
