Sprecher Pipers Scotch Ale

DISB Rating– 59 – I would not serve this to Scarlett Johanssen even if she insisted.
TMTB rating – 59 – You do not need to taste bandaid to establish a baseline.
Style Rating – 59 – Even for a Scotch Ale it just ain’t right.

Sprecher Pipers Scotch Ale was kind of like 2012 when you took Duke for $1000.00 over Lehigh and your friend did not even ask for points, plus you had Duke to win it all in your $500.00 per entry pool. Lehigh beats Duke 2012. It is a big surprise that really sucks.1

Sprecher Pipers Scotch Ale – Aroma – caramel, smoky moss, and dogwhistle clove creating a very sanitized smell almost like a Bandaid. Head – medium with a medium retreat and some decent lacing. Color – cloudy medium reddish amber; Flavor – caramel yeast smoky moss somewhat and very mild clove and when blended together much like one would imagine a Bandaid would taste. Strongly carbonated medium body. Sprecher Scotch Ale is virtually undrinkable, much like any true Scotch Ale that I have tasted in the past, but because of the way the flavors blend together it does not have a classic Scotch Ale flavor profile that an aficianado would tend to appreciate.2

1. For those of you in that part of the legal industry which shall not be named here is a special surprise that can really suck too. terminated

2. (The Editors – Based upon Android’s description it sounds like the brewer attempted to create an authentic Scotch Ale with a slight flavor twist that would make it stand out and it all went horribly wrong. Much like Duke’s NCAA tournament in 2012,)
